Oh no - It's FLAMETHROWER! What's it do? All kinds of weird stuff, and
you may find a use for it as I have.
I use HOTWIRE, an excellent menu utility from CODEHEAD software. I had
written this bunch of little utilities that I found I needed and was
tacking them all over my nice, clean HOTWIRE menu. The solution?
FLAMETHROWER.
Use the Universal Item Selector II (My own personal choice for Utility
of the year)? FLAMETHROWER allows you to summon up UIS II (Or plain
vanilla variety if you are not using UIS II).
Need to know how much memory you have left (Largest block)?
Want to change your screen colors (Inverts in mono)?
Have you ever needed to change the system DATE, even though it gets set
by your hard drive or clock card at bootup? Now you can re-set it any
time you want.
You can also re-set the system time to whatever time you wish.
Why Atari decided to make their printer the system default, I'll never
know. If you want to do a screen dump or you have a program that uses
the system's HARDCOPY command and you own an Epson compatible printer,
you will want the density set to 960 dots. Do it with FLAMETHROWER and
a "HOT KEY" from HOTWIRE.
You can run EXTERNAL programs from FLAMETHROWER. This option will be
getting a lot of work as I want to make it load and run LOTS of types of
files. SEQ or ALL Doctor T's files. DOC and TXT type files. PI? or
PC? DEGAS files. SPL sample files are next and that program is done now
and should be in the next release of FLAMETHROWER.
Also there is a restful Moire pattern generator that will allow you to
save a pattern to disk as a TINY picture. Next release should have a
bubbles graphic generator in it too (Looks like an aquarium with a
bottle of Alka Seltzer thrown in)!
